How It All Started

In the beginning, I struggled. I tried selling all sorts of items, but the sales just weren’t coming in. I was actually about to give up — I had decided to give it a couple more months, and if nothing changed, I was done.

That’s when my mom suggested I try making tissue box covers. Honestly, I thought it would be like everything else I tried — nobody would want them. But I was wrong. That’s when things finally took off. 18 years and over 13,300 sales later, those tissue box covers became the heart of what I do.

What Makes My Handmade Covers Different

I create handmade fabric tissue box covers and toilet paper covers that turn everyday bathroom essentials into beautiful decor pieces. I specialize in transforming something most people overlook — a plain tissue box or a roll of toilet paper — into something that actually adds style to a room.

My tissue box covers are designed to fit snugly with carefully chosen fabric, and my toilet paper covers are truly one of a kind. Every single piece is handmade by me in my sewing studio with over 30 years of sewing experience.

Here’s something most people don’t know: two of my best-selling products — my toilet paper covers and my ruffle tissue box covers — actually came from customer requests. A customer reached out asking if I could design something specific, and I said yes.

Listening to my customers has shaped my entire shop. Those two product lines wouldn’t exist without them, and I’m constantly amazed by how my customers’ ideas keep my business growing.

Building the Christy Crafted Covers story hasn’t been without challenges. The hardest part? I make every single product by hand, by myself. When things get busy, there’s no team to help with orders. Working under deadlines when I’m tired, not feeling well, or just not in the mood is part of the business.

I also constantly balance keeping quality high while working faster to keep up with demand. And designing new products takes a lot of trial and error.

But here’s the thing: every challenge has been worth it. Knowing that my covers are sitting in over 13,000 homes across the country, adding a little beauty to people’s bathrooms and bedrooms — that’s what keeps me going.

Most people who know me through my home decor covers would be surprised to learn that I didn’t start making products for the home. My first products were actually for babies! 👶
